Bexley HS Alumni Band – July 4th Parade and Rehearsals
July 3 - July 4
General Details: We’ll play familiar Bexley songs (fight song, plus a few more familiar tunes), while seated in a trailer (so no marching) as we move along the parade route. Former BHS Band Director Jeff Schneider has agreed to conduct!
Costs: We are asking that everyone wear a BHS Band Alumni shirt for this event, which will cost approximately $16. Link below:
Times: There will be a rehearsal the evening before the parade on July 3rd from 7:00 – 8:00 pm in the BHS band room. We will then meet at our designated starting location early in the morning on July 4th.
How to Participate: Please follow the link below to sign up. This will help us know how many people to expect and allow us to fill out our parade application and in ensure we have proper instrumentation. A reminder that the deadline to register is June 16th at noon.

- What if I can’t come to the rehearsal on July 3rd, but I still want to do the parade on July 4th?
If you are in this situation due to a prior commitment, you are still more than welcomed to join us on 4th for the parade. We ask that you still fill out the sign-up form and clearly communicate that you can’t attend the rehearsal to us, so we aren’t surprised on the 4th. (There should also be a spot on the form to indicate that you can’t attend the rehearsal). We still HIGHLY ENCOURAGE YOU TO ATTEND THE REHEARSAL, but if you can’t we totally understand. Music will also be emailed out ahead of time to those who have signed up for the parade.
- What if I don’t have a personal instrument to use?
The High School Band has enough extra Sousaphones and percussion instruments that we should be in good shape for the parade. There is also a limited supply of other wind instruments available. Regardless, if you know that you will need to borrow an instrument we ask that you still fill out the sign-up form. (There should also be a spot to indicate that you need to borrow an instrument on the form).
Conclusion: We don’t want anyone to miss out on this opportunity due to prior commitments or due to not owning a personal instrument, so if you want to participate in the parade, please sign up! Leila and I are happy to address any questions you may have, you only have to reach out.
