Nan Jenks-Jay ’70

Nan Jenks-Jay class of 1970 is to receive the Distinguished Alumni Award from Yale University, Graduate School of the Environment this fall. In 2020, she was presented with the Lifetime Achievement Award from an international organization – the Association for the Advancement of Sustainability in Higher Education. Nan is Dean of Environmental Affairs Emeritus – Middlebury College.  She currently consults and co-owns Miller Hill Farm, Nursery and Gardens with her husband Carl Phelps offering herbaceous plants, shrubs and trees and specializing in native species. They recently conserved 100 acres of their farm in Vermont. Leading Voice in Environmental Education Wins YSE 2021 Distinguished Alumni Award  For being a leading voice for environmental education and sustainability in higher education, and catalyzing environmental programs around the country and globally, Nan Jenks-Jay ’86 MES was honored with Yale School of the Environment’s Distinguished Alumna Award 2021
