Better together: Alumni Association merges with BEF under BEF umbrella

Our July 3 alumni open house attracted alumni from classes as far back as 1954, as well as many members of the BHS reunion classes of ’65, ’75 and ’85. The event also marked the start of a new chapter for BEF: just one week earlier, documents were filed with the State of Ohio to merge the BEF and the Bexley High School Alumni Association (BHSAA) under the BEF umbrella. See below for photos of Open House and Bexley 4th of July Parade.

The goals of the merger are two-fold: to ensure long-term sustainability for the alumni association, and to build on the synergy between two organizations that value and support the Bexley experience for current students and alumni. The combined organization has the potential to become the preeminent K-12 educational foundation and alumni association in the country.

BEF staff will manage the operations of the BHSAA, including the alumni website, Facebook page, newsletter and other communications. This new chapter of the BHSAA will build on the work of those who have guided the association since its founding in 1973 with the over-arching goal of keeping alumni connected to each other, the Bexley Schools and the Bexley community.

We invite BHS alumni to learn more about current and planned alumni communications, activities and giving opportunities by contacting BEF Executive Director Pam Glasgow at (614) 338-2093 or pamela.glasgow@bexleyschools.org.
