Alumnus promoted, The Columbus Foundation

Dan Sharpe BHS ’02 has been promoted to Vice President for Community Research and Grants Management at The Columbus Foundation. He took over the position from Lisa Courtice, PhD, who now leads the United Way of Central Ohio as CEO.

Dan has worked for the Foundation for 11 years, serving in multiple capacities with increased responsibility. He has supported the nonprofit community through capacity-building. As facilitator for the Bexley Education Foundation’s Youth Philanthropy Program, Dan speaks to students regarding community foundation management and grantmaking. The Columbus Underground quotes him: “I am deeply honored to serve in this role for The Columbus Foundation. My family and I are proud to call Columbus home and to advance our community in increasingly meaningful ways.”

As Vice President, Dan will oversee the development and implementation of grant policies, program priorities, and areas of strategic grantmaking for the Foundation. He will also lead the Community Research and Grants Management team, where he previously served as Director.

In a statement from the Foundation, Douglas F. Kridler, Columbus Foundation President and CEO states, “Dan’s strong qualifications, experience, and knowledge of the nonprofit sector make him an excellent choice to lead the Foundation’s strategic grantmaking efforts.”
